A quick relief anyone?

Well, a short story of how I got to Kuching.

I always thought of myself as a boring person, honestly. One that is very much following my everyday routine and nothing fantastic or bombastic will ever happen, in my life of course. That said, my boredom syndrome is very much affecting my pretty baby, and a boring relationship is pretty darn pathetic.

I got on the plane the next day after the entire team left, and got myself to Kenny’s gym. The rest was history.

But gosh, I was pinned with 2 locations, Melaka (Mum’s parents) and Bangkok (Girlfriend + family was vacating).

I’ve promised to deliver a romantic Valentines to my darling, at least. So, to shuffle between time, and gosh it was tight.

Morning came and yes, the traditional family practice, tea ceremony. Something that’s been going on for the past couple years. Basically sisters  + me serve our mummy and daddy tea and we wish them with many awesome wishes. After that, we would go visit our relatives.

That said, because of my tight schedule, I could only spend a couple minutes with my relatives as my flight was booked after-noon. Yes peeps, I was shuffling between 2 countries on the 14th February 2010.

I left Malacca and headed for KLIA, and yes, I was rushing, well thank God for the little pony that I was driving, it serves me well. Right then, I checked into my flight and got my butt off to Bangkok (tired)…

I arrived on time, but my baby was not answering my calls. I took a taxi to my studio suite and waited for the silly girl. That said, I spotted something funky in the taxi, a public message to the fellow taxi passengers.

It took her 3 hours to get in contact with me, she was busy shopping and forgotten that I arrived, amazing yes? At least she had the mind to remember that I made dinner reservations.

We always wanted to dine up in the sky, nope, not like Sky Bar or Luna Bar, more so like State Tower, Lebua, Bangkok. We both fell in love with Bangkok because of this place, the charm, the beauty and the romance that could be found is scintillating. But of course, perfection comes at a price yes? Indeed…

We set ourselves in The Breeze, magnificent location for couples.

The couple hours we spent there was magical, all I wanted to do the whole night was to tell her “I Love You”, which I did.

I totally forgot to capture other moments, especially the orgasmic food served. Every single second was precious, as my flight back to Kuala Lumpur was the on next morning.

I am not sure if this is considered as romantic, but at least I spent my Valentines evening with my love in the country we love so much.

I am happy.

Right then, let’s get down to business, that’s what he said I suppose. Speaking words of standard and orthodox, but only catching himself left behind time. A time-warp it seems.

The Malaysia Information Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim said today, “Reader Will Move Away From Traditional Media”. Indeed, I do ponder… His reasons?

“Readers will most likely shift to the Internet for news if the traditional media continues with its old style of presenting news based on what the editors feel that people should read, or using the media as a propaganda tool.” said the Minister.

I will have to agree with him as he also planted his feet down on saying that Malaysians especially Muslims should not immerse themselves in the internet culture, as he pin points at Facebook and Twitter.

He added that facilities like internet could not be accepted wholly because it was a form of business introduced by the West and “Malaysians were just users.”

“They are just selling Facebook, Twitter, L-Band and various other services, even through space, as a product but we do not do such business. We accept all this in a state of cultural shock,” he said.

Oh yes Sir.

But hey Mr of Information Communication and Culture, do get your head straight. It’s the year 2010, has the word Globalization hit your sane mind yet? Do listen here, your commander in chief uses Facebook and Twitter to reach out to us that is the so called “Cultural Shocked” citizens.

In fact, what is your proposal for us cultural shockers to improve and to move forward in this so called Advanced country? Bird mail perhaps? Indeed 1Malaysia. Is that what 1Malaysia is all about, if it’s so, sorry I am out.

Ouch! This really is painful. The Italian Police crashed their beloved Lamborghini Gallardo patrol car… I dare say that this is one of the sexiest car in the world (after the Aston Martin V8 Vantage), but it is also sad to see one of these beauty going down the drain.

The damage? Beyond repair, a broken ribs plus some bruises…

Perhaps a lil far away from you my darling, but I am missing you every single moment. I love you sweetie and I can’t wait to see you.

I always wanted to surprise my love ones with great food, something that would satisfy their hunger, properly of course. The thing is, time never allows me to prepare something good and proper nowadays, with me juggling between work and studies, my daily diet has been evolving into, let’s just say, atrocious.

With me spending some precious time in Adelaide, food prepping was a must, purchasing of the best ingredients is also a must must! That said, preparing French/Italian dishes in a country that is not so Asia proved to be much easier as vast ingredients to pair with the dish could be found everywhere. Well, I do my shopping in the central market, 3 times a week. Oh, Saturday marketing is awesome, as the freshest of Salmon arrives then!

Now, back to the food prepping for my lovelies. Since my semester is bridge under water now, I have a tad bit more time in returning to my culinary calling. This time, I decided to prepare something that requires little skills and little time, cooking with Pasta of course.

Having said that, not all Pasta dishes are quick and easy, an exception to this one. The Pasta Aglio e Olio, it is rather simple to prepare, all I needed was:

1. Fettuccine Pasta (I used Spinach based)
2. 5 Garlic Cloves (Chopped)
3. Freshly Chopped Parsley
4. Salt & Pepper
5. Olive Oil

Preparation:

1. Boil the water and add a little salt in it, add in the pasta.
2. Heat up the Olive oil on a pan (medium heat).
3. Sauté the Garlic on the pan until Golden, add in a little salt, remember not to over do this (Caution, put on low heat once the Garlic is on the pan)
4. Cook the Pasta till Al Dente, drain them and transfer it onto a bowl.
5. Stir/Toss the sautéed Garlic and the Pasta (I prefer to do this on the same sauté pan)
6. Toss in the Parsley and Pepper.

That took me 30 mins, prep and cook of course. I included an iPod in it to lift the mood up, with Hed Kandi Beach House playing, life is good.

Thank God that no replacement was needed, that would have cost a bomb.
